make money online

5 steps to a sucessful web site:

Step 1 - Design it

Here are some places to start looking at designs:

First, take a look at your competitors - Do a search on the keyword phrases that describe your business. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from your competitors.

webpagesthatsuck.com - This site will help you find out what NOT to do. It's also fun.

useit.com - Here's a real plain web site. Jakob Neilson is the guru of website usability (not much on design).

Some of the articles will help you build a web page that's easy to navigate and user friendly.

coolhomepages.com - Here's a great site to get some idea on what designs you like. I send my clients there with the Surf Pad to take notes.

Some of the sites have been there since the hay-days of Flash so you're bound to run into a lot of Flashy, splashy pages; just ignore them, they're way too annoying.

Step 2 - Build it

We would love to have the opportunity to be your resource on how to build a web page. Everybody needs a mentor a coach or just someone to hold his or her hand. This can be a big and scary world.

Don't let fear and uncertainty get in the way of your success. Ifyou're serious about making money online, give us a call its free and there are absolutely no obligations. (800) 606-1255.

Step 3 -Optimize it - Search Engine Friendly Web Page

The next step in having a successful web page is to optimize it for the search engines. Actually, if you're building your web site from scratch or redesigning an existing one, this should be part of your design.

There are volumes written about how to get the best position on the search engines. A great site is wordsinarow.com. If you're interested in doing your own work and hand submitting your site to the search engines, Jere has a great step-by-step program that works.

Step 4 - Monitor it

Now that your web pages are up, the fun begins.

Hopefully, you have access to your server logs. These logs gives you extremely valuable information about your website and who's visiting.

For example, lets say you're an Art Coach. You find that most people are entering your site on your Art Gallery page. They're missing your message completely.

You can move your content to where your clients are. So they have a chance to buy your product or sign-up for your newsletter.

You can also see what keyword phrases they used to find your site. Now you have some incredible insight into your clients. You know which keywords to target in your marketing and can refine your marketing campaign to capture more business.

These are just a couple of the many reasons you need to monitor your site.

If your web pages are just a minor part of your marketing program, you should check your web logs at least once a month.

If you're a serious marketer and want to get the most out of your Internet investment, you probably want to check your logs at least once a week.

Step 5 - Update it

Trust. Trust is the hardest thing to build, especially on the Internet. Without trust, you don't have business. According to Jacob Neilsen:

"With the growth in e-commerce, trust is getting increasingly important, and outdated content is a sure way to lose credibility."
- Jacob Neilsen -
